Last night the Greenburgh Town Board had a special meeting to discuss what should be done in the wake of the recent Appellate Court decision regarding the Finneran Law, and whether residents of incorporated villages should pay for/have access to Town parks.
The Board was to discuss asking the State Legislature to amend the Finneran Law to give the Board flexibility to allow incorporated village residents access to parks or programs as needed. This would allow the board to accept Mayor Leon's proposal that Ardsley residents have access to the town pool under a specially created program.
The meetings (Board Meeting and Work Session) were broadcast last night, and you can watch the full meetings in streaming video on your computer by clicking on the following two links:

residents of unincorporated make the argument that they paid the capital costs of the pool etc. this of course evades the fact that 4 of the 20 acres of veteran park are in the village of ardsley for which no taxes have ever been paid for 30 years.
as a result of the recent appellate court decision interpreting finneran, ardsley taxpayers are entitled to a rebate for the taxes we paid for taxter ridge over the past year and a half.
we might agree to forego this as further consideration for pool access.
